Strike Three: Saturated New Egypt Speedway Nixes Thursday ‘Dirty Jersey’

NEW EGYPT, NJ – Strike three.

With steady rainfall saturating coastal and central New Jersey for the past two days – and lingering showers this morning courtesy of Hurricane Erin – Thursday night’s ‘Dirty Jersey’ Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco event at New Egypt Speedway has been postponed.

After evaluating the condition of the surface and facility on Thursday morning, track crews and speedway management felt postponing the event – unfortunately for a third time – was the best option.

Despite clearing predicted for Thursday evening, the time frame is not adequate to prepare the surface for a series event.

New Egypt Speedway and the Short Track Super Series will work together on a suitable date to run the event in 2025, if possible.

The Short Track Super Series returns to action on Sunday, Aug. 31 at N.Y.’s Afton Motorsports Park with the ‘Afton Action 50’ offering $5,050 to the winner in a HYTORC of New York North Region event plus a gigantic fireworks display.
